Author and Aerospace Engineer
Author
I'm an author and aerospace engineer who was born in a mining town called Kitwe on the Copperbelt Province of Zambia. I spent my formative years in my home country before leaving to study Engineering in the United Kingdom. I have since had the opportunity of travelling widely and living on three continents. I currently reside in the Washington DC metro area with my wife and daughter.
But what does aerospace engineering have to do with writing, you might ask? Strangely, quite a lot. I have led many engineering teams in my career and I’ve come to discover that designing airplanes is much like crafting a compelling story. Both pursuits require one to patiently stitch together seemingly disparate parts into a single harmonic unit in which passengers or readers can be ferried to someplace else while enjoying the ride. I believe my unique blend of experiences inform my writing and help me bring to life a cast of colorful characters and storylines. It is my sincere hope that you will enjoy my writing and perhaps one day you can read one of my stories or listen to my podcast, Kutika!, as you fly aboard one of the airplanes that I helped design.
Aerospace Engineer
For close to two decades, I have applied my trade as an Aerospace Engineer. I have led numerous teams to design complex aircraft systems and I’ve been privileged to play a role in producing some magnificent works of engineering - Airbus A380, Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Joint Strike Fighter, and many more. To this day, it still fascinates me when I see these metal birds soaring through the skies connecting people around the world. I do count my blessings and I work to mentor young people interested in entering the field. It’s truly been quite a journey for a small kid from Kitwe!
